ATCsimulator2 (Build 3.3.0.16) Demo Version Thank you for your interest in ATCsimulator2. We have provided this demo to allow you to experience the thrill of air traffic control. ATCsimulator2 was created to simulate both ARTS-IIIa radar consoles, and STARS or (Standard Terminal Arrival Replacement System) consoles. But, keep in mind, ATCsimulator2 is merely a game meant for entertainment. This demo includes 4 seperate control areas, DFW (Dallas-Ft. Worth), JFK (John F. Kennedy), LAX (Los Angeles), and ORD (Chicago O'Hare) terminal approach control sectors. Here are a few of the keystrokes needed to control traffic; To start the sim in ARTS mode, you must first turn on the power located mid-screen to the left of the radarscope. To end a session, turn off the power. CTRL - Always press this before issuing a clearance to an aircraft. DM - Descend and maintain followed by an altitude in hundreths of feet CM - Climb and maintain followed by an altitude in hundreths of feet FH - Fly heading, folowed by a direction in degrees TL - Turn left heading, followed by a direction in degrees TR - Turn right heading, followed by a direction in degrees RS - Reduce speed followed by a speed in knots IS - Increase speed followed by a speed in knots CI - Cleared ILS approach followed by the runway assignment CV - Cleared Visual Approach followed by the runway assignment CT - Contact Tower followed by the frequency CC - Contact Center followed by the frequency To initiate a handoff, press the [F5] key, "C" or "T" (Center or Tower), and left-click on the target. Here is an example. An aircraft has entered the DFW area, and is blinking on the scope. To accept the target, simply left-click on the flashing target symbol when its visible. The target will respond with; "American two fifteen at one five thousand with information alpha" You can then issue clearances. For example, to tell AAL215 to descend and maintain 4000 ft, do the following; [CTRL] AAL215 [space] DM [space] 040 [Enter] The target will respond with; "Roger descending to four thousand American two fifteen" You get the idea. To have a target land at DFW, look up the approach altitude using ALT + [i], click on KDFW. The approach altitude will be listed next the runway with an ILS. For instance, runway 35C at KDFW has an approach altitude of 2100 feet. So here is the sequence to clear for an approach; [CTRL] AAL215 [space] CI [space] 35C [space] DM [space] 021 [Enter] Then, initiate the handoff pressing [F5], [T], left-click on AAL215. Then; [CTRL] AAL215 [space] CT [space] 126.55 [Enter] Enjoy! A manual with an extensive tutorial and quick reference card is available with your product purchase. aerostudios P.O.
